The buy-in for this event will remain at €2,000 + €250 and the event will once again feature a €50,000 Sole Survivor promotion, where the longest lasting Paddy Power qualifier in the Irish Open 2014 will win €50,000 cold hard cash in addition to the event prize money and second through sixth place in the Sole Survivor competition will win entry to the Irish Open 2015.
The first online satellite will take place on Sunday, Nov. 10. The buy-in for this satellite will be €200 + €15 no-limit Hold'em freezeout, and in celebration of the Irish Open launch, there are two €3,200 packages guaranteed in the first online satellite.
"It is always exciting to launch the Irish Open each year, and we hope to make the next one even bigger and better in 2014. We're launching the online satellites nice and early this year so that people have more time to win their seat at a bargain price, or even for free on Paddy Power," said the communications manager for Paddy Power Poker. "Next Easter there is a big possibility of a number of the top professional players in the world taking part in the Irish Open, so as always the eventual winner will be champion of the most prestigious tournament in Europe."
The Irish Poker Open is the longest running no-limit Texas Hold'em poker festival in Europe and the second most historic in the world after the World Series of Poker, Las Vegas. First organized in 1981 by Terry Rogers, a well known Irish bookmaker, the tournament is now world famous for its electric atmosphere, the famous poker faces that return every year, and the general craic that is had by all every night in the hotel bar.
A full schedule of side events will be available at the Irish Open 2014 and will be announced in due course.
