Packer's casino plan put to rest by new Sri Lanka government

SRI LANKA -- Sri Lanka's new President Maithripala Sirisena has put an end to three proposed casinos projects, Reuters reported.

This move, promised during his election campaign, sees James Packer's $400 million project shelved, the report said.

The new government plans to restrict casinos to one specific geographic area of the country, according to the Reuters report.
