Over $130k handed out at Americas Cardroom as Bad Beat Jackpot pops

26 Jun 2012

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Who says you have to play high stakes poker to hit a major 5-figure payday? On June 24 at 9:48pm ET, an online poker player named carnyc popped a 6-figure jackpot at a $0.50 No Limit Hold'em table, netting him $65,072.38 and sending another $65,000 into the hands of five other players.

"With the WSOP currently in progress, we know players are experiencing all sorts of brutal bad beats in Vegas without getting anything to ease the pain," stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "But we're way different. When online poker players get dealt a crushing blow at a Bad Beat Jackpot table, they'll pop the jackpot that climbs by thousands of dollars every day."

It's all part of the ongoing Bad Beat Jackpot game at Americas Cardroom. The U.S.-friendly online poker site is softening the blow of losing at the poker tables by paying poker players big money when misfortune strikes. And that includes more than just the winner of the hand.

It's not just the recipient of the bad beat who walks away a winner when the jackpot hits. The winner of any Bad Beat Jackpot losing hand stands to win 20% of the jackpot, and those who participated in the dealt hand will share 10% of the jackpot (30% of every jackpot goes to reseed the next big one).

NikoBellic11 handed the latest brutal blow to carnyc, pocketing a $43,377.22 bonus for winning the hand. Sharing in the 10% were sj277737, Alig8trblood, TMONEY1990 and allin Tom, who each earned $5,423.77 for participating in the hand.

Americas Cardroom is offering poker players another way to ease the pain of a bad beat. The online poker site is hosting the Punta Cana Poker Classic this October. While the land-based tournament won't include a Bad Beat Jackpot component, players who do bust out of the tournament can soften the blow of the bad beat by relaxing on the world's best beach at the Hard Rock Punta Cana Hotel & Casino.

Winners of Punta Cana Poker Classic packages at Americas Cardroom are awarded all-inclusive bracelets that grant them unlimited food and alcohol plus access to rock star treatment at incredible clubs, countless restaurants and delis, and over a dozen pools.
