Orpe reaches final table
Michelle's game started well "The first couple of hours of play were excellent, I was very lucky to have a landed a passive table so I could become the table 'Champ' if you like and steal every pot". A lot of players started to get knocked out. Michelle noticed that a lot of the women were really scared of Annette and that she took advantage of it by constantly stealing and had accumulated a large stack pretty early on. Unfortunately she ended up busting out early with 64 suited against JJ.
"I am a newly sponsored player at Purple Lounge and this is only my 2nd tournament, to cash at all is amazing and a great achievement. Liv Boeree went on to win it. She found KK against JJ just before I went out and doubled through so was in great shape but this event has given me the confidence to realise that I can do even better at events to come" says Michelle Orpe . Michelle was knocked out by Jacqui Terry who has worked with Purple Lounge on all their live events over the past 3 years. Although Michelle was very disappointed to have come so far and not win the entire tournament, who better to have knocked her out other than Michelle's and Purple Lounges long-time friend Jacqui Terry. "At the end of the first day I was seriously short stacked and figured I didn't want to return to the 2nd day with nothing so I starting to push all in constantly with 20 minutes of play left, do or die I say. Then there was a pause and they finished a few minutes early, I was gutted because I wanted to do my all in plan. BUT the good news was that I had made the cash". The event will be broadcast in six, one-hour shows during the late summer on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
The tournament puts Michelle Orpe in a great frame of mind going into her next event, representing Purple Lounge at the World Poker Showdown(WPS) event at the fabulous Ocean World resort in the Dominican Republic which begins on May 9th and leads into her first WSOP (World Series of Poker) event in July. With confidence brimming over and the poker skills to match we're sure that this star is likely to shine for a long time to come.
