Online poker duo joins Team PokerStars
18 Jul 2017
The professional poker players will broadcast on the PokerStars Twitch channel to showcase the variety of games on offer, interact with viewers, run contests to win merchandise and tournament tickets and play poker with the PokerStars.com community.
To kick off, the pair will host a $1.10 special Progressive Super Knockout Twitch tournament today, 18 July at 15:00 BST, where players who reach the final table win a $22 Micromillions Main Event ticket.
Irish poker pro Hand is well-known on the U.K. live event circuit, having recently made the final table sporting a shamrock suit in The Irish Poker Open Festival in March, for €19,445. English poker player Spragg lists his €30,210 win in the 2013 UKIPT Galway as one of his biggest.
International pack
The English and Irish duo will join Team PokerStars Online members Lex Veldhuis (Holland), Randy Lew (U.S.), Adrienne Rowsome (U.S.), Mikhail Shalamov (Russia), Felix Schneiders (Germany), Jaime Staples (Canada) and Kevin Martin (Canada) to create an international pack.
"I'm really excited for Fintan and Spraggy to join our team," Team PokerStars Online member Lex Veldhuis said. "The way we stream is pretty similar and that makes me feel really related to them. They both play poker with passion, are very opinionated, and even have the same hobbies. It's not just going to be fun working with them professionally, I'll also get to know them better on a personal level. They are both good players in their own right and that’s always motivating as well. I think we've got exciting times ahead with the current roster."
Fellow Team PokerStars Online member Jaime Staples said, "Fintan and Spraggy are two essential parts of the poker broadcasting community. I couldn't be happier to see them partner up with PokerStars. Stay tuned for some awesome streams!"
Talking about joining Team PokerStars Online, Hand said, "It's what I've been working towards, and, even now, it hasn't hit me. Of course you win money in poker but I feel, however long I'm in Team PokerStars Online, when I look back on it in years to come, it's something tangible, and it's going to be something to be proud of."
Spragg said, "I would love for the online poker experience to be as fun as those games I played in the garage with my friends. If I can help bring a new audience of players into the game and have them find the passion for it that I did, I will consider it a job well done."
