One Ticket Wins $267 Million Jackpot

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- One ticket has won it all. Somewhere there is a ticket worth an estimated $267 million. That ticket, which was purchased in Lyons, Ohio, matched all six numbers in the February 28, 2006 Mega Millions drawing. The winning numbers were 02-04-35-36-48 and the Mega Ball number was 22.

It comes as Mega Millions fever has grown from coast to coast. In fact, more than 2.3 million tickets won prizes in Tuesday's drawing.

A total of 22 tickets came within just one number of hitting the jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (4), Georgia (2), Illinois (3), New Jersey (2), New York (7), Ohio (2), Texas (1) and Virginia (1).

The jackpot for the Friday, March 3, 2006 Mega Millions drawing is $12 million.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
