Official: Pennsylvania slots won't affect lottery sales
17 Jan 2007
PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Johnstown Tribune Democrat: "...Steve Kniley, press secretary for the state Department of Revenue, said the department doesn't expect the new gaming laws to have any impact on lottery sales.
"…The slot machines at racetracks and stand-alone parlors in large cities are intended to capture the billions of dollars that Pennsylvanians already spend each year at such sites in other states, he said.
"…Kniley said the department found there was no negative impact on the exiting state lottery in other states where slot machines have been implemented.
