Norwegian Online Gambling Ban Finds Support

NORWAY – As reported by the Aftenposten Norway: "A parliamentary majority now supports the idea of forbidding Norwegian citizens from participating in gambling operations based on foreign-based web sites.
"Politicians have long believed that such a ban would be inconsistent with Norway's economic agreement with the European Union but a new verdict from the Supreme Court in the Netherlands makes it easier to ban cross-border gambling, NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting) reports.
"…Critics of the legislation question the wisdom of regulation that will probably prove impossible to enforce."
