Nordictra, HiQ team up

TOCKHOLM, Sweden -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Nordictra, which develops Internet-based financial products, has engaged HiQ (STO:HIQ) as a partner to design a new platform for online gaming based on quoted stock prices. Betsson, Nordictra's first client, recently launched the game for the Scandinavian market.

Nordictra's product combines the best features of the stock exchange and e-gaming. End users can bet on stock prices and indices, and play the stock market without having to deal with the actual securities. Nordictra sees operators inside and outside of Sweden in the gaming, finance and media industries as potential new clients for the future.

"We have an innovative new product that makes it possible for people with an interest in following the stock market to do so in a simple and user-friendly environment. Betsson is our first client. The launch has been very well received by the target group, and we expect to launch the game in more markets. We are extremely pleased with HiQ. They participated in the design of a complex system using the latest technology. We are now looking forward to customising new solutions together with HiQ, and to bringing our products out into the world to a greater extent," says Nordictra CEO Jan Johansson.

"The project has been both successful and exciting. The entire system was designed from scratch, based on open source code. The user interaction was developed in Flex, the successor to Flash, and offers a distinct preview of future web applications," says Magnus Gudéhn at HiQ. "HiQ's combined experience in securities trading and online gaming makes us unique in the market, and we foresee increased demand for services where HiQ is partnered with Nordictra to create solutions of this type," adds Gudéhn.
