NH Lottery Commission Chairman Debra Douglas confirmed for fifth term

6 Jun 2022

(PRESS RELEASE) -- New Hampshire Lottery Commission Chairman Debra Douglas was recently renominated by Governor Chris Sununu and confirmed for her fifth three-year term on the Commission. Douglas, whose term runs through 2025, was first appointed to the New Hampshire Lottery Commission in 2009 and has served as Chairman since 2010.

“It is such an honor to serve on the New Hampshire Lottery Commission and I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve another three-year term,” said Douglas, a Bow resident. “I am extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish. Last year, the New Hampshire Lottery generated nearly $519 million in sales, allowing us to deliver a record $146 million in support for education in New Hampshire. I look forward to continue playing a role in the success and growth of the nation’s first state-run lottery.”

New Hampshire Lottery annual sales increased by more than 116% during Douglas’s tenure, from $240 million in Fiscal Year 2009 to an all-time record high of nearly $519 million in Fiscal Year 2021. During Douglas’s tenure, the New Hampshire Lottery has implemented one of the most successful and unique sports betting systems in the country, and has introduced NH iLottery, KENO 603, countless scratch tickets and game changes.

Douglas is also New Hampshire’s representative on the Tri-State Lotto Commission, which includes the three lotteries of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Once again, Douglas will assume the rotating role of Chairman of the Tri-State Lotto Commission, as she previously did in 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019.
