9 Jul 2025

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The BetMGM Poker Championship at Aria Resort & Casino ended with Nguyen Le capping a stunning comeback to win $777,777. Le had only one chip left with 11 players remaining but rallied to mount a remarkable comeback to beat Ashish Ghosh during heads-up play. The $3,500 BetMGM Poker Championship drew 1,853 entries and nearly doubled the $3 million guarantee with a $5.9 million total prize pool.

“It’s wonderful. Obviously, you’ve got to be lucky to get this far from a field like this. It feels amazing,” said Le.

2025 BetMGM Poker Championship Final Table results:

- Nguyen Le – $777,777 (a deal was made to chop the remaining prize money)

- Asish Ghosh – $752,282 (a deal was made to chop the remaining prize money)

- Yaniv Peretz – $590,348 (a deal was made to chop the remaining prize money)

David Mileaf, BetMGM’s Senior Manager of Poker Operations, said, “Congratulations to Nguyen Le on possibly the most epic poker comeback of the summer that captured the wild swings and emotions of poker. Thank you to the players and to our partner, MGM Resorts International, for making this year’s event a record-breaking success.”

Le’s $777,777 win represented his largest live cash and was more than his entire total live earnings prior to the event ($658,088). In January 2025, Le won $425,000 at the Borgata Winter Poker Open Powered by BetMGM in a heads-up chop.

Ryan Kirk, ARIA’s Director of Poker Operations, said, “When our collaboration with BetMGM began in 2022, we were excited to offer a $1 million guaranteed prize pool for the championship event. Due to the partnership’s tremendous growth over the last three years, we were able to award nearly $1 million to the event champion while offering close to a $6 million prize pool. We couldn’t be more proud and look forward to what the future holds.”

The BetMGM Poker Championship at ARIA debuted in 2022 and has experienced exponential growth. The inaugural event had 343 entries, a $1.1 million prize pool and the winner took home $224,236. This year’s event represents the following increase from 2022 to 2025: a 440% increase in entries and a 436% increase in the prize pool. In addition, over 110 players from BetMGM Poker markets including New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ontario (Canada) won BetMGM Poker Championship packages that included a $3,500 Championship entry, a five-night stay at ARIA, travel credit and BetMGM swag bag.

Players can earn BetMGM Rewards Points and Tier Credits by playing at BetMGM Poker. BetMGM Rewards points can be redeemed for digital bonuses, MGM Rewards Points and Marriott Bonvoy Points.

As BetMGM continues to expand into new markets and introduces new features, responsible gaming remains a key focus. Additionally, BetMGM is proud to provide resources to help customers play responsibly including GameSense, an industry leading program, developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Through the integration within BetMGM's mobile and desktop platforms, customers can receive the same GameSense experience they have grown to rely on at MGM Resorts properties nationwide. This complements BetMGM’s already existing responsible gambling tools which serve to provide customers with an entertaining and safe digital experience.
