New York Poker Operation Busted
NEW YORK – As reported by the Newsday: "Nassau County police have folded what they called an illegal "Texas Hold 'em" game secretly operating inside a Farmingdale warehouse.
"Officers swarmed the illegal poker den Thursday and confiscated about $10,000 in cash.
"Six people were arrested for organizing and promoting a 'sophisticated' all-night game that included six card tables, poker chips, surveillance equipment, a cash safe and free snacks, police said.
"…Arrested were: Anthony Arcuri, 37, of 465 Farmingdale Rd., West Babylon; Arthur G. Davidson, 36, 1149 Hyman Ave., West Bay Shore; Sayed Ayub Hussain, 40, of 1315 Suydam Place, Babylon; Melissa Delpezza, 29, of 1051 Callahan St., Bay Shore; Adam R. Trentacoste, 25, of 2 Gable Gate, Old Bethpage; and Christian E. Demeglio, 25, of 2307 Losee Court, North Merrick.
"…Wearing helmets and pointing handguns, they ordered about 50 people to lay facedown on the ground and place their hands behind their head, Arcuri said. 'They treated us like we were hiding Osama bin Laden in here,' he said.
"Hussain, Arcuri and Davidson insisted they had not broken the law. Proceeds, Arcuri said, were given to a nonprofit organization…"
