New York Ferry Considers Allowing Gambling
30 Sep 2004
NEW YORK – As reported by the WORK-TV: "While the fate of the fast ferry is being decided, some Rochester-area residents maintain that allowing gambling on the ship or inside the terminal would pump money into the operation.
"WOKR 13's news partner, WHAM 1180, reports that developer Tom Wilmot has contacted the city and the ferry company on behalf of the Seneca-Cayuga Indian nation. The group had previously expressed interest in running a casino downtown.
"…Beyond gambling, ferry operators are likely going to court other local investors to put money into the service."
