New bet-level rules for New South Wales racing operators

5 Jan 2015

NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia -- New South Wales has introduced new changes that will mean operators cannot reject minimum bets, the (Australian) Daily Telegraph reported.

The new rules, backed up by regulations, state that operators with a thoroughbred turnover of $5 million plus have to accept at least one bet from a punter wanting to win up to $2000 on a metropolitan race or $1000 at a non-metropolitan race.

While operators with turnover under $5 million must accept at least one bet from a customer wishing to win up to $1000 at any thoroughbred race, the Daily Telegraph report stated.

Customers were fed up having their bets curbed, the report noted.
