Nevada sportsbooks make history
30 Dec 2020
Last month, Nevada sportsbooks reported $61.8 million in revenue, breaking the previous record of $56.4 million from September 2018.
Having five weekends of football, the most popular sport to bet on, helped the books hit this number as there was a record $502 million handle for football in November. Overall, the sportsbook handle in November was $609.6 million, a $50 million decline from October.
By comparison, New Jersey sportsbooks recorded an all-time monthly handle record of $931.6 million in November.
Overall, statewide casino gaming revenue was just under $771.2 million in November, a 17.8% decline from the same month last year and around $50 million below October 2020, a direct result of casinos being forced to operated with limited hours and capacity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
