NBU bans credit funds use for online gambling

(PRESS RELEASE) -- On 22 June 2024, the National Bank of Ukraine will introduce a ban on customer payments to accounts of gambling operators for participation in gambling using loan funds.

The measure will minimize risks to the security and stability of the financial system, reduce the negative effects of online gambling, and help to protect consumer rights and develop responsible consumer lending.

The amendments were introduced by NBU Board Resolution No. 72 On Amendments to NBU Board Resolution No. 18 dated 24 February 2022 dated 21 June 2024, which takes effect on 22 June 2024.
