Nautica Charity Poker Festival offers WSOP seat
The special Team Cleveland(TM) tournament will have a $350 entry fee and limit of 100 players. $300 of the $350 entry fee will go towards the prize pool that pays the $10,000 World Series of Poker(R) entry fee for up to two players, plus a certain amount for expenses. There are also additional cash prizes paid in the tournament.
Winners of this tournament will join eight winners of previously-held Team Cleveland(TM) tournaments and represent Cleveland in the 2008 World Series of Poker. Proceeds from the Team Cleveland(TM) tournament will benefit the Ohio Junior Hockey Association, an organization that promotes youth development and gives players age 9 through Junior-A level hockey an opportunity to play at the highest level possible.
Players must register in advance at the Festival Center. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12th and will continue at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13th if needed. The $350 entry fee must be paid in cash when registering. There is a 100-seat limit to the tournament and players will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. The two-day Team Cleveland(TM) tournament begins Saturday, June 14th at 4:00 p.m. and continues until midnight or the field is reduced to 20 players. The tournament resumes on Sunday, June 15th at 4:00 p.m. and continues until completed.
Team Cleveland tournaments are part of the Nautica Charity Poker Festivals, now in their fourth season. Charities are expected to earn over $1.5 million of net revenue annually in the year-round location. Proceeds come from an hourly seat fee paid by each player, donations made by patrons, food and beverage concessions and sponsorships. In addition to gaming activities, all of the Festivals offer other activities, including historical and artistic events, charity demonstrations and information booths relevant to each charity.
