Mohegan Sun reveals celebratory lineup for 20th anniversary

(PRESS RELEASE) -- After twenty years of welcoming millions of guests through its doors to experience the region's finest accommodations, casino offerings and live entertainment, Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce today the exciting lineup of special events to take place throughout October in tribute to the property's 20th anniversary celebration. From Country to comedy and Hip-Hop to Rock n' Roll, the East Coast's top entertainment destination is rolling out the red carpet for the world's biggest performers and celebrity talent in what is sure to be the must-see celebration of the fall season.

As part of this huge milestone, Mohegan Sun will be presenting a "20th Anniversary Comedy Special" hosted by Kevin Hart & Friends. Set to feature an evening of stand-up comedy performances by various comedy stars, it will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, the same day as the release of Hart's groundbreaking movie What Now, performed in front of an 50,000 people at Lincoln Financial Field. The 20th anniversary festivities will continue throughout the weekend with an incredible A-list musical talent lineup, and celebrity appearances and more shows to be exclusively released later this summer.

"It is a privilege to be hosting one-of-a-kind events such as Kevin Hart & Friends and Bruno Mars' only concert appearance of the year, for our 20th anniversary celebration. We are eager to announce even more live entertainment and celebrity appearances that will make take place at Mohegan Sun this October."

From Oct. 1 through Oct. 30, Mohegan Sun's nationally recognized, 10,000-seat Arena, which was recently named the 2016 "Arena of the Year" at the ACM Awards in Las Vegas and known for showcasing top headlining concerts and premier sporting events, will host more than 10 musical acts (with nearly 30 Grammy Awards among all) for fans to enjoy throughout the month.

The following Arena performances are scheduled as part of Mohegan Sun's 20th Anniversary celebration with additional talent to be confirmed soon:

• Tim McGraw on Saturday, Oct. 1 (2016 CMT Award winner for "Video of the Year" and has a current song in the top 10)
• Bruno Mars on Friday, Oct. 7 (Makes return to Mohegan Sun Arena with only concert appearance of the year)
• Boston Celtics vs. Charlotte Hornets pre-season game on Saturday, Oct. 8
• Kevin Hart & Friends host the "20th Anniversary Comedy Special" at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, Oct. 14
• Comix Comedy Presents Dane Cook at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, Oct. 21
• Sam Hunt on Saturday, Oct. 22 (Last year's "Artist of the Year" at the Country Music Awards and #13 currently on the Hot 100 Country Songs Billboard chart with, "Make You Miss Me.")
• Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire on Sunday, Oct. 23 (Lifetime Achievement Award at The 2016 GRAMMY Awards)
• Sia with special guests Miguel & AlunaGeorge on Wednesday, Oct. 26 (#6 on Billboard's Hot 100 with, "Cheap Thrills" featuring Sean Paul.)
• Carrie Underwood on Friday, Oct. 28 (2016 CMT Award winner for "Female Video of the Year" as well as currently #2 on the Hot 100 Country Songs Billboard chart with "Church Bells.")
• KISS on Saturday, Oct. 29 (2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees)
• Laugh Out Loud…

In addition to the spectacular musical entertainment slated for this fall, the 20th anniversary fun continues at COMIX Mohegan Sun, an upscale Comedy Club and Craft Beer Bar, where guests can witness well-known comedic talent including national headliners, superb regional and local talent and off-beat shows.

• Deon Cole on Thursday, Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 8
