Miracle Flights' online poker tournament starts tomorrow
4 Aug 2020
Tournament buy-in is $100, and all proceeds will go directly to support Miracle Flights, the national nonprofit that provides free plane tickets to families who need specialized medical treatment far from home.
As the nation’s leading medical flight charity, Miracle Flights has been flying families to medical treatment for 35 years and has continued its mission even amid the Covid-19 crisis. Funds raised in tomorrow’s poker tournament will not only help Miracle Flights purchase plane tickets for patients and their caregivers, but also help provide face masks for every flyer and ground transportation to treatment facilities.
“Traveling for complex medical treatment is stressful under any circumstances and especially so during the pandemic,” says Miracle Flights CEO Mark E. Brown. “We hope as many players as possible will join us tomorrow to help make a difference for families in need—and to have a great time too.”
Brown and Faded Spade Card Club CEO Tom Wheaton will co-host tomorrow’s tournament, which will be live-streamed on Twitch. Celebrities scheduled to make a virtual appearance during the event include Oksana Baiul, Brad Garrett, Richard Kind, Michael Ian Black, poker pro Matt Berkey and more.
