Michigan online betting figures rise in May 2026

Monthly Gross Receipts
May iGaming gross receipts totaled $305.8 million. May online sports betting gross receipts reached $76.7 million.
Monthly Adjusted Gross Receipts
Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) totaled $316.72 million for May, including $293.45 million from iGaming and $23.27 million from online sports betting.
Compared with April 2026, iGaming AGR increased 0.8% and online sports betting AGR declined 4.9%. Year-over-year, iGaming AGR was up 24.2%, while online sports betting AGR decreased by 34.6%.
Monthly Handle
Online sports betting handle totaled $457.6 million, a 0.7% decrease from April 2026.
Monthly State Taxes and Payments
Operators submitted $64.2 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan in May, including:
- iGaming taxes and fees: $61.5 million
- Online sports betting taxes and fees: $2.7 million
Monthly City of Detroit Taxes and Payments The three Detroit casinos reported $14.6 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit in May, including:
- iGaming taxes and fees: $13.8 million
- Online sports betting taxes and fees: $839,168
Monthly Tribal Operators’ Payments
Tribal operators reported $8.4 million in payments to governing bodies in May.

As of May 2026, 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to offer iGaming and/or online sports betting in Michigan. Of those, 13 operators offer online sports betting, while all 15 offer iGaming.
