Michigan Gaming Panel Waits for Name Change
DETROIT, Michigan -- As reported by the Detroit News: "The Michigan Gaming Control Board still hasn't received an application to transfer ownership in either MGM Grand casino or MotorCity Casino, but one is expected by week's end, the board's executive director said Monday.
"Dan Gustafson said a special board meeting to consider the proposal would be scheduled once it's received and his staff reviews the application and makes a recommendation.
"…MGM Mirage must sell either MotorCity or MGM Grand to conclude its $7.9 billion merger of Mandalay Resort Group in Las Vegas. Mandalay owns 53.5 percent of MotorCity and MGM owns about 95 percent of the MGM casino in Detroit.
