MGM Mirage Recognized by Leading Business Publications
LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- For the fifth consecutive year, MGM Mirage has been named one of "America's Most Admired Companies" by Fortune Magazine. This recognition follows the magazine's annual survey that evaluates the reputation of companies with large U.S. operations.
To identify "America's Most Admired Companies" for 2006, Fortune asked 10,000 executives, directors and securities analysts to rate companies based on criteria including investment value, innovation, financial soundness, employee talent, quality of management and social responsibility. MGM Mirage was ranked in the category comprised of hotels, casinos and resorts.
Also, Hispanic Trends Magazine named MGM Mirage to its "Top 50 Companies for Supplier Diversity" list. According to Hispanic Trends, the list is comprised of large U.S. corporations that offer minority business owners the best supplier diversity opportunities. MGM Mirage has adopted a formal policy requiring minority bid participation in all contracts and purchases exceeding $1,000. In 2004, MGM Mirage spent more than $77 million on commodities sold by minority-owned enterprises.
