MGC holding Category 3 public hearing on 12 December

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission will hold a public hearing Monday, 12 December, at 1:30 p.m. regarding the five applications for Category 3 Sports Wagering Licenses tethered to Casino Licensees.

The public hearing is meant to provide the public an opportunity to give comment(s) on the existing applications for Category 3 Sports Wagering Licenses tethered to casino licensees, which can be found on the commission's website. Those wishing to speak at the hearing should email MGCcomments@massgaming.gov in advance to be placed on the list of speakers. Alternatively, written comments may also be submitted to the same email address with ‘Category 3-tethered public comment’ in the subject line. Written comments will be accepted on a rolling basis by the commission.

Five applications for tethered Category 3 licenses have been submitted to the Commission. Caesars Sportsbook and WynnBet would be tethered to Encore Boston Harbor – who was approved for a Category 1 Sports Wagering License on Thursday – if awarded a license; BetMGM would be tethered to MGM Springfield; both Fanatics and Penn Sports Interactive would be tethered to Plainridge Park Casino.

Meetings regarding these applications are set to be held throughout the upcoming weeks of 12 December and 19 December. More information on those meeting dates, times and schedules is soon to follow.
