MICHIGAN – As reported by the Detroit Free Press: "Misdemeanor gambling charges were in the cards for two men who held an illegal poker party in Clinton Township, police said.
"The two, Robert Perakis and Gerard DeMichele, are accused of hosting a Texas Hold 'em soiree Feb. 9 at the Imperial House, 34701 Groesbeck.
"…More than 50 people who gathered to play Texas Hold 'em poker that evening will not face charges for their involvement, police Capt. Fred Posavetz said.
"…Police said that for $40 each, players could join the tournament. The grand prize was to be $10,000. Those who didn't advance could enter the final round by paying $300."
