Mega Millions reaches $42 million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Mega Millions drawing on Halloween night was a treat for players holding 395,909 winning tickets. That includes five tickets that each won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the $32 million jackpot, the jackpot grows to an estimated $42 million for the Friday, November 3, 2006 drawing.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 05-34-40-45-46 and the Mega Ball number was 21.

Those five tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Two of those tickets were purchased in Georgia, two in Ohio and one in Massachusetts.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
