Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $138 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions players from coast to coast are feeling the excitement as the jackpot continues to grow. When Friday's winning numbers were drawn, they turned 870,263 tickets into Mega Millions winners, including nine tickets that came within one number of hitting the jackpot. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the $117 million jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, April 4, 2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $138 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 04-07-19-50-52 and the Mega Ball number was 15.

Nine tickets came within a heartbeat of hitting the jackpot. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (1), Michigan (3), New Jersey (2), New York (2) and Washington (1).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
