Mega Millions jackpot rises

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Friday, December 8, 2006 Mega Millions drawing brought the excitement! A total of 379,152 tickets from coast to coast won Mega Millions prizes, including two tickets that each won $250,000. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $15 million jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, December 12, 2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $22 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 1-15-29-32-45 and the Mega Ball number was 8.

Pari-mutuel prizes means that prize amounts vary with the number of tickets sold and the number of winning tickets in each prize category.

The two tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Massachusetts (1) and New York (1).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
