UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The jackpot in Mega Millions is growing -- and there is no shortage of winners! A total of 313,680 tickets from coast to coast won prizes in the Tuesday, December 5, 2006 drawing. That includes three tickets that only missed the Mega Ball number. Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot for the Friday, December 8 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $15 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 6-9-13-43-46 and the Mega Ball number was 45.

Those three tickets that came within one number of hitting the jackpot did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. The tickets were purchased in California, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
