Mega Millions jackpot rises

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Friday, November 3, 2006 Mega Millions drawing featured the largest jackpot in the nation. And the drawing brought out the winners! A total of 469,370 tickets from coast to coast won Mega Millions prizes, including seven tickets that each won $250,000. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $42 million jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, November 7, 2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $52 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 8-10-22-25-55 and the Mega Ball number was 22.

The seven tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (1), Illinois (2), New Jersey (1), New York (1), Ohio (1), and Virginia (1).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
