Mega Millions jackpot reaches $50 million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Lucky players nationwide continue to win big with the Mega Millions game. In Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing, a total of 460,352 tickets from coast to coast won prizes, including two tickets that came within just one number of hitting the jackpot. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the jackpot grows to an estimated $50 million for the Friday, December 22, 2006 drawing.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 9-32-37-42-48 and the Mega Ball number was 7.

Those two tickets that matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number were purchased in California and New Jersey.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
