Mega Millions Jackpot Raised to $17 Million

UNITED STATES -- The weather may be cold, but Mega Millions is heating up! Players in the eleven Mega Millions states won more than $2.3 million in prizes in the Friday, December 10, 2004 drawing. A total of 278,219 tickets were winners, including six tickets that each won $175,000 and 19 tickets that each won $5,000. There was no jackpot winner, so the jackpot is on the move and estimated at $17 million for the Tuesday, December 14, 2004 drawing.

Friday's winning numbers were 22-23-37-42-47 and the Mega Ball number was 15. Those six tickets that won Mega Millions' second highest prize of $175,000 matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. The tickets were sold in New York (4), Georgia and Michigan.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
