Mega Millions Jackpot Grows to $25 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions is growing -- and providing excitement for players in the eleven states across the country where Mega Millions is played. More than 260,000 tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $175,000 in the Tuesday, December 14 drawing. That includes four tickets that each won $175,000 and 12 tickets that each won $5,000. However, none of those tickets matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, so the estimated jackpot for the Friday, December 17, 2004 drawing grows to $25 million.
The winning numbers in the December 14 drawing were: 14-27-32-34-40 and the Mega Ball number was 02. The four tickets that each won $175,000 matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Two of those tickets were sold in New York, and one each in Illinois and Ohio. Mega Millions players won a total of $1,934,698 in Tuesday's drawing. Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio,
Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
