UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The excitement level is growing in Mega Millions and so is the number of winners. In Friday's Mega Millions drawing, a total of 468,099 tickets won prizes, including three tickets that each won $250,000. But no ticket matched all six numbers to win the $60 million jackpot. So the estimated jackpot for the Tuesday, August 29, 2006 drawing grows to $70 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 17-24-35-46-54 and the Mega Ball number was 33.

Pari-mutuel prizes means that prize amounts vary with the number of tickets sold and the number of winning tickets in each prize category.

The three tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Two of those tickets were purchased in New York and one in New Jersey.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
