Mega Million jackpot rises to $102 million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- 2007 is here -- and for Mega Millions players the new year is beginning with the same excitement and high number of winners that marked 2006. In Tuesday's drawing, a total of 558,132 tickets won prizes, including five tickets that each won $250,000.

No ticket matched all six numbers to win the $84 million jackpot. So the estimated jackpot for the Friday, January 5, 2007 drawing grows to an estimated $102 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 09-10-38-51-53 and the Mega Ball number was 01.

The five tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in New Jersey, New York, Ohio (2) and Virginia.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
