UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions players from coast to coast are feeling the excitement as the jackpot continues to grow. When Friday's winning numbers were drawn, they turned 388,975 tickets into Mega Millions winners, including 2 tickets that each came within one number of hitting the jackpot. Since no ticket matched all six numbers in Friday's drawing, the jackpot grows to an estimated $16 million for the Tuesday, December 6, 2005 drawing.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 03-12-21-38-44 and the Mega Ball number was 45.

The two tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Georgia and New York.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
