MASSACHUSETTS -- Massachusetts State Lottery Commission will allow customers to buy lottery tickets and scratch cards using their debit cards in 2012, NECN reported.

The Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling has raised concerns over the plan, but the Lottery Commission contends that debit cards are a "21st century form of cash", NECN reported.
