Maria Lampropulos grabs PCA Main Event win

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Maria Lampropulos scooped $1,081,100 after winning the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event, her second seven-figure win, jettisoning her to the fifth spot on the female lifetime money winners list. She also grabbed a Platinum Pass, which provides free entry into the $25K PokerStars Players Championship scheduled for next January.

This follows a $1.28 million win at the PartyPoker MILLIONS event last April.

Big names such as Adrian Mateos, Koray Aldemir, Liv Boeree and David Peters made it into top spots, all vying for a prize pool of over $5 million. The final table was streamed live on PokerStars TV.

Lampropulos told the PokerStars Blog, "I am very, very happy. I'm so excited. This is incredible. I know that this is hard to believe for everybody. It's my second huge main event, and I'm very thankful.

"I have never played so high — I will try to do my best. I will have to improve a lot. I know that but I really love playing poker, and I will continue playing."
