MAINE -- As reported by the Maine Today: "The Maine House of Representatives gave preliminary approval today to a bill allowing a Maine Indian tribe to operate up to 400 slot machines, if it has a license to run high-stakes bingo games.
"The original bill identified the Penobscot Nation as the prospective licensee, but a legislative committee changed that wording to an unspecified 'federally recognized Indian tribe' before sending the bill to the full Legislature..."
