LPT warns players about possible misleading information
25 Feb 2026
LPT received a notification in early February about a lottery-like game being organized. Buyers are invited to purchase "CLF blockchain postcards" and win a car.
Having assessed all the circumstances, the Authority came to the conclusion that the organized game does not meet the characteristics applicable to lotteries. The sale of postcards began a month and a half earlier than the offer to win a car. Therefore, the promise to give one of the buyers a car as a gift can be considered a sales promotion. According to the law, such promotion is not considered a lottery.
However, the Supervisory Authority notes that in this situation consumers may be misled. At the beginning of the sale, “CLF blockchain postcards” were presented as a cryptocurrency (“cellophane cryptocurrency”), although this is not the case. LPT has transferred all available information to the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority.
LPT urges residents to critically evaluate games organized online.
