Leighton puts a bet on Wynn casino job

24 Oct 2006

AUSTRALIA -- As reported by the Australian: "Leighton Holdings is hoping to get another $US1.5 billion ($1.9 billion) casino construction deal in Macau from Las Vegas casino veteran Steve Wynn.

"This follows the announcement last week that Leighton would be building the $US1.3 billion City of Dreams casino-hotel complex for James Packer's PBL and his Hong Kong-based partner Melco.

"Leighton chief executive Wal King told Sky Television yesterday that Mr Wynn was pleased with the job that Leighton had done building the first stage of his first casino in Macau, which opened last month. "If Mr Wynn goes ahead with his next casino (in Macau) we have a high level of expectation that we will build that for him," Mr King said.
