Latin American Poker Tour to debut in PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

(PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerStars today announced a new Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) event that will take place as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). The PCA event will replace the LAPT Grand Final, which has been cancelled in a mutual agreement between PokerStars and Mantra Resort & Casino.

Season 8 of the LAPT will kick off in January 2015 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. This change is in fitting with the European Poker Tour (EPT) where regional PokerStars tournaments have successfully joined forces with EPT stops, creating longer poker festivals with more events and variants on offer. David Carrion, PCA & LATAM Director of Live Operations said: “The PCA is the richest poker festival held outside of Las Vegas and by including the LAPT we can offer players, who are used to lower buy-in tournaments, the opportunity to experience The Atlantis resort and everything the Bahamas has to offer.”

Peru will play host to the final stop of LAPT Season 7, taking place October 15-19 at Atlantic City Casino in Lima. LAPT Peru is expected to draw hundreds of players for the $1,550 + $150 main event, which last year attracted 557 entries and generated a prize pool of $810,440.
