Ladbrokes and Gala Coral merge

LONDON, England -- Following speculation late last week that the merger would be soon completed, Ladbrokes and Gala Coral have now merged, according to the Guardian.

The merger will see the two companies become a gambling giant combining 4,000 betting shops, the report said.

The new company will also become the largest British bookmaker, surpassing William Hill, the Guardian reported.
