Ksa issues warning to Vbet
23 Dec 2025
The Ksa conducts ongoing risk-based monitoring of gambling providers' compliance with the Wwft. In April 2025, the Ksa launched a Wwft investigation at Vbet. Various documents were requested, including client files, internal documents on Wwft policy, and the risk assessment. The investigation identified several Wwft-related shortcomings.
The investigation revealed, among other things, that Vbet is not adequately implementing its company-wide risk assessment. This assessment provides no insight into the gross risks identified by Vbet and lacks version control. As a result, the Financial Supervision Authority (Ksa) cannot properly assess how the risks identified in the risk assessment have been assessed, whether the control measures are effective, and whether the risks are current. Furthermore, the investigation revealed other areas for improvement, particularly in the areas of monitoring player transactions, aligning established policies and procedures, and recording the risk profile in client files. These points make Vbet's prevention of money laundering less effective.
Vbet cooperated and proactively developed a recovery plan during the investigation. Vbet also indicated that it would follow the recommendations of the Ksa.
