KANAWHA, West Virginia -- As reported by the Charleston Daily Mail: "Kanawha lawmakers say any action to scale back neighborhood slots parlors is at least three years away.
"The 9,000 allowable permits for the limited video lottery machines won't be up for bid again until 2011.
"Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper has announced plans to hold public meetings on the machines and is calling for legislative action.
"But lawmakers say little can be done while current permits are valid..."
