2018 Super High Roller Bowl Final Table Results:
1. Justin Bonomo USA $5,000,000
2. Daniel Negreanu Canada $3,000,000
3. Jason Koon USA $2,100,000
4. Mikita Badziakouski Belarus $1,600,000
5. Christoph Vogelsang Germany $1,100,000
6. Nick Petrangelo USA $900,000
After the last card hit the felt, Bonomo said the following about the biggest win of his poker career.
“This is a career-defining moment. Honestly, the past seven months combined with so many ridiculous wins after another, just feels unbelievable.”
On his way to victory, Bonomo battled his way through a final table that included defending champion Christoph Vogelsang and all-time money list leader Daniel Negreanu. The action started with six remaining hopefuls, all of which were guaranteed $900,000 after Stephen Chidwick was eliminated in seventh place for $600,000 late on Tuesday.
On the very first of final table action, Nick Petrangelo was eliminated when he ran tens into the queens of Jason Koon. Defending champion Christoph Vogelsang was eliminated shortly thereafter when he couldn’t recover from having started the day with a short stack.
After two quick bustouts, a long four-handed battle ensued. Start-of-the-day chip leader Mikita Badziakouski saw a big bluff fail versus Daniel Negreanu, leading to his exit in fourth place for $1,600,000.
Jason Koon briefly held the chip lead three-handed, before clashing in the most important pot of the event. Koon tangled with Justin Bonomo, resulting in an all-in that would define the outcome of the event. With a stronger two-pair combo, Bonomo grabbed the chip lead and knocked out Koon shortly thereafter.
Bonomo started the heads-up battle with a big chip lead, and after Negreanu gained some early ground, a clash for two-thirds of the chips in play sealed the deal. Bonomo flopped top set versus Negreanu’s middle pair with a straight draw.
