Jackpot Island and award-winning slot machines arrive at MGM Grand Detroit
14 Aug 2012
The newly added slot machines are some of the most popular and in-demand games around the country, including Skee-Ball (the multi-award-winning video slot based on the classic arcade game), Moon Goddess and Sun God (both offering five-level internal/external progressive), Money Works, Venice Nights, Space Attack, Pirate Ship, Bier Haus, Napoleon and Josephine, and Texas Tea, featuring a 101-inch LCD display and surround sound experience. All of the new games are in the denomination of 1 cent.
“Everything we do at MGM Grand Detroit, from our spa to hotel, restaurants and casino, is based on providing our guests the best experience possible. Adding these new machines will keep our gaming floor the most exciting and vibrant in the market,” said Troy Hammie, MGM Grand Detroit’s Vice President of Slot Operations.
In addition to the new games, MGM Grand Detroit opened Jackpot Island on Tuesday, August 14. Jackpot Island is a themed area with nearly 300 slots that are "special bonusing" enabled and will award instant, random quick-hit jackpots of up to $500 all day, every day, with no winning combination required. State-of-the-art lighting effects and rumbling celebrations are all part of Jackpot Island.
“Jackpot Island offers guests the sights, sounds and feel of an island paradise with the chance to increase their winning with quick hit jackpots. Escape the norm and venture onto Jackpot Island but once the volcano is awoken, the fun really begins,” added Hammie.
The 100,000-square-foot casino features nearly 4,000 of the latest slots and video poker machines and more than 90 table games, each part of MGM Resorts International's Mlife expanded rewards program. Members earn benefits for virtually every dollar spent at hotels, spas and restaurants at 15 world-renowned destinations in Las Vegas, Mississippi and Detroit.
