Italy cannot flout EU law by blocking online gambling

BRUSSELS -- The EU Court of Justice has rejected Italy's attempt to block online gambling, Malta Today reported.The case centres on Italy's right to block companies based outside their territory but within other member countries from offering online gambling to Italians, the report said.
The CJEU declared it is against EU law for Italy to prevent companies in other EU states from offering such services, according to the Malta Today report.
