ISWI Signs Deal with Interactive Sports
WEST PATERSON, New Jersey – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Interactive Systems Worldwide Inc. (Nasdaq: ISWI) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Global Interactive Gaming Limited ("GIG"), signed a new agreement with Interactive Sports Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sportingbet PLC, one of the worlds largest online betting and gaming Group ("Sportingbet"). GIG will provide software and services to allow Sportingbet to offer an enhanced play-by-play betting service throughout the course of a sporting event. The betting markets, which will be integrated and offered alongside Sportingbet's existing offerings, will be deployed across Sportingbet's websites throughout Europe.
Sportingbet is currently one of GIG's largest bookmaking partners. This new agreement will provide GIG with a share of the wagering revenue from the enhanced play-by-play betting service. GIG will manage the fast resolving in-run "play-by-play" wagering markets, including their creation, the setting of initial odds and subsequent odds changes, their closing and their eventual settlement. This service will be offered in conjunction with other more traditional markets that are already currently managed by Sportingbet. Sportingbet will accept the wagers and manage the bookmaking on all markets.
Bernard Albanese, President of ISWI, stated, "We are very pleased to have entered into this agreement with Sportingbet. To receive this level of endorsement by them, one of the world's largest online betting and gaming Group is very gratifying. We are optimistic that this enhanced product, offered throughout Europe through more than twenty websites, will benefit both companies. We look forward to aligning ourselves with Sportingbet to offer their customers the most comprehensive in-run betting service available to the public."
Kenny Alexander, Managing Director of Sportingbet Europe said, "We are excited to be able to offer this seamless solution for the innovative betting opportunities made possible by the SportXction(R) system. This service will enhance our live betting service by significantly increasing our customers betting opportunities."
The product will be offered in multiple languages, and wagers will be accepted in multiple currencies. GIG utilizes the SportXction(R) System, developed by ISWI, to manage primarily short-term, play-by-play oriented, betting opportunities ("propositions" or "markets") during a live sporting event. The agreement is for an initial 18-month term and Sportingbet Europe will make available the SportXction(R) system for all of the currently available sports of football, cricket, golf, tennis, rugby, basketball, NFL, snooker and darts. Both parties expect this new service to be offered to the public prior to the World Cup, scheduled for early June.
