Is 7-point-7 a good bet?
Dear Frank:
The Orleans Casino in Las Vegas has a new proposition bet called "7-Point-7" above the pass line on its craps table.
I played it once and won, but I am suspicious of it as being a sucker bet. It paid 3x on the seven and not even money. I was practicing the Golden Touch roll that I was able to roll the 7-point-7. Thanks for educating me on that.
What can you tell me about the 7-point-7 wager? Good or bad?
Charles
Dear Charles:
It is, as you speculated, a bad bet. The bet wins on a 7 during the come-out roll, or when the player sevens out just after establishing a point. The house edge is a high 5.56%, which means you will lose $5.56 for every $100 you bet on this proposition.
I'd avoid the bet.
