Irish bookies want tablet technology

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Irish bookmakers are in talks with the government to acquire tablet technology for their shops, the Sunday Business Post reported.The ipad type technology proposal would form a "fixed internet betting-type facility", which the government is greeting warmer than the previous proposal for fixed-odds betting terminals, the report said.
The Irish government was strongly opposed to fixed-odds betting terminals, the Sunday Business Post said.
